This modular ant nest combines durable nesting materials with a precise, protective 3D-printed enclosure. The Ytong core is contained in custom housing, providing reliable moisture control and supporting natural ant behaviour. Designed for stable humidity and healthy brood development, it also allows clear observation of the colony.

Setup Guide

1. Connect suitable tubing depending on ant species (13mm & 16mm O/D)
2. Hydrate the nest as as required
3. Introduce the colony by attaching the nest directly to the test tube by silicone tubing
4. The closed gate can be used to control access while connecting to an appropriate outworld

Hydration Guidelines

• Add water slowly to the hydration area only – 1-2ml at a time
•  Lightly damp, not saturated — avoid standing water
• Rehydrate when the nest begins to lighten in colour
• Frequency typically every 2–7 days, depending on species, temperature, and humidity needs

Care & Maintenance

• Maintain species-appropriate temperatures and humidity level
• Clean outworld regularly; do not wash the nest itself
